Excited that Google will allow snippet customization of image size and video length, but is there any control over what video or image is actually displayed? If so, is there an example out there? Google Lets Site Owners Customize Their Search Results Snippets

They also started reporting on video structured data in the Google Search Console. However I'm not sure how much influence SD has on the presence of video and image snippets.
The snippet customisation is related to new laws coming in Europe. Using the snippet customisations or marking up in SD is a way to give Google permission to use the related content in snippets. Otherwise, some sites in Europe will be blanked out. I think France is first.
