I have a few strategies, but I'd like to hear people,s stories about extremes, particularly those that prevent even creating the GBP at all:
  • The city in the address does not exist in Google
  • The city name used by google for the address is incorrect
  • The street name has changed since Google's last data update in, what, 2012??
  • The street doesn't even exist in Google, much less have a name
This morning I had to deal with a case where the address exists in Google but you wouldn't be able to find it unless you knew that the city name in the address (and only in the address) has a mis-encoded accent character. I had never seen anything like that in Google!

What country is this? Sounds like an area Google Maps has abandoned. Can you suggest an edit to add or update the street name? If that did not work, I would go to support and ask them to add the correct information to maps so you can create the GBP.

These are all issues we've run in over the years in Quebec. Yes, including completely missing streets. Given that afaik, Google does not buy external data anymore (I believe the last time was, was, in 2012??), that should surprise no one.

And believe me when I say support is NOT supportive for such issues!

We make suggestions but you know as well as I do that it can take weeks, if Google even ever deins to make a decision in either direction.
