How often do you think it is necessary to update homepage text?

I know that Google likes fresh content. So I am wondering if you periodically update homepage text to keep bots coming back. Or if the page is already ranking well, do you just leave it alone?

If you do update the home page, do you add new content or rewrite existing paragraphs?

We very rarely update the home page. We might add a paragraph or slightly edit content if we feel it is necessary for better rankings, but once we have it ranking well for the main targets, we leave it alone.

Same. Don't touch the homepage once it's ranking well. "Fresh" content is a red herring in my opinion.
