Issue with uploading videos to GBP posts – bug or removal of feature?

Hi everyone,
I’ve been running into consistent issues when trying to upload videos to GBP posts and I’m wondering if this is just me, a wider bug, or if videos are being phased out altogether. Here’s what I’m seeing:

On mobile:

1. Through Knowledge Graph → Posts: it gives me the option to add photo or video, but when I open my camera roll all videos are filtered out. I can’t select any video files.
2. Through Google Maps → My Business → Add Update: here it explicitly only allows adding photos – no mention of video at all.

On desktop:
I can upload a video to a GBP post, but after staying in “Pending” status for a while, it always ends up being Rejected.

So my questions are:

• Is this happening for others as well?
• Is it a bug that Google needs to fix, or have they started removing video support for posts?
• Has anyone found a workaround that still works for publishing videos in GBP posts?

Any insights would be really appreciated – trying to figure out if it’s worth troubleshooting further or if videos are simply no longer supported in GBP posts.

is this new, i.e. videos that you previously uploaded no longer uploading?
Are the same videos rejected when uploaded to images and not as part of posts?
Unlikely, but is this a recent profile?
Are you 100% sure the rejection is specifically linked to the video and not the post text? I've found that, especially in non-english content, post rejection can be unpredictable...

The profile has been around since 2009 — I only gave it as an example, but I also have examples from different countries with English content. I’m specifically referring to creating a new post with a video. Previously, I was able to upload videos both in posts and directly through the GBP dashboard without any issues. It now seems, however, that the option to upload a video to GBP via mobile is no longer available.

It's possible the problem is your phone and the video format. Have you tried uploading from a PC?
