Lately, I’ve been noticing a significant spike in Google Business Profile suspensions across multiple accounts I manage. These suspensions seem to be happening more frequently than usual, and I haven’t identified any clear pattern yet. Is anyone else experiencing the same issue?

I have. It seems almost every new GBP we create gets suspended within a couple of days and we've seen some suspensions after edits. In each case, I've appealed the suspension with documentation, and the GBP has gotten reinstated, and I didn't make any changes to the GBP info.

Same here. I managed to get a few GBPs reinstated, and I’m still waiting for a response on the remaining ones. However, they were suspended randomly, without any changes being made.

Yes. The humans @G mustve released updates to feed their AI algos. Five smb's approached us about their suspended gbps. 2 reinstated, 3 more to go.

This month, I’ve seen a noticeable increase in clients needing reinstatement for suspended GBPs, which likely means the Spam and Quality Team has made some tweaks to the algorithm.

most of the accounts we're helping had priors

Yes, we have seen an increase in GBP suspensions. However, the majority of these suspensions appear to be affecting accounts that manage multiple Google business profiles.

Its not making sense.

Video verified business suspended. AND another business is now showing on that business address, and phone number of another business is listed.

Seems this is the new normal for gbp algo, suspend without any accountability, if it was by error, appeal, wait weeks, if lucky, you eventually get back after weeks of lost business. Rinse and repeat.

If this was your local utility company, just curious what remediations is there for consumers

I am feeling the same level of pain. With more than 1,000 profiles, I get about 1-3 suspensions per week. The triggers are All. Over. The. Place.
  • I have done as little as add a tracking string on the web URL to get suspended.
  • I have set up a new business and provided a great video showing all required elements to be verified, it processed for days, then was suspended.
  • One suspension is still at 30% under review since Sept. 8, 2025.
  • This is the best one yet: set up a new business and I got the recorded video option to verify. I submitted the video and set up the profile. Within 4 days it went suspended, I sent in the appeal with evidence - I was denied. The profile sat idle for about 30 days because I was busy with other accounts and needed time to gather more evidence. Now, I have more evidence and I'm ready to submit the re-appeal. Click through to the profile: it's changed - now wants a video to verify.
I'm spending about 25% of my day, every day, chasing down evidence, submitting appeals, and re-appeals.

I had to solicit help in the Help Community because Google has a problem with a medical doctor with a brick and mortar practice, phone number and business hours, but his middle initial is a HUGE problem. "John C. Doe, MD" is on 3rd party directory sites while "John Charles Doe, MD" is on his medical license.
And. This. Is. Entirely. Unacceptable. So. I. Am. Told.
