Link diversification when using HARO and similar websites.

Many of the links from these sources are from the same 8-10 websites in the homes niche. Is there a risk that this would disimprove a site's ranks?

The links have definitely helped us over the last 12 months, but I want to diversify next year. I'm going to look into more sponsorships.

Are multiple links on high authority websites still powerful or will their power diminish as more links are added?

Any insights on best strategies for local are appreciated, thanks.

AFAIK - links can either help or Google ignores. Getting penalty or 'disimprovement' are rarely the case.
