Listing Won't Show in Map Pack but Shows in Maps Search

I have two clients this is happening with.

One client is a chiropractor and when you search "back pain <city>" he doesn't show up in the map pack. If you go to the maps results, he's the first one.

Another client is a roofer. "roofing contractor <city st="">" does not return his business in the pack. When you go to maps, he is #2.

Has anyone else been seeing this lately? Seems to have just started.</city></city>

They're two different algo's so it's been going on for quite some time. However, I'm seeing a difference more frequently since they tweaked the Local algo a while ago. I'm seeing some businesses get bumped out of the local pack by businesses I've never seen there before.

I think this is actually more a filter thing.

The new maps results correlates almost perfectly with the pack results now. I was unaware there were still two different algorithms? That was true for the old Places search but I don't think that's the case for Maps anymore.

Is it?

It could definitly be a radius issue!
