My team is currently transitioning from Brightlocal to Local Falcon. We need to provide a list of keywords to track and I'm wondering if their local keyword research tool is any good. My initial thought was to use GSC and look at top queries for location pages since GSC is actual data from Google.

If anyone has any suggestions on how they'd go about this, I'd love to hear them! I've never had to set up a local SEO tracking tool, so it'd be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I've never used it but would always suggest using GSC over anything else unless you have keyword data from running ads.

I'd also recommend grabbing all the keywords from GBP Insights.

I've always been a bit wary of any keyword tools.

If you have a very specific niche product or service then the range of applicable keywords is easy to determine. But if you have something a bit more generic there could be hundreds of long tail keywords that would lead to your site.

When I did some testing I kept being told my keyword suggestions had too low a search volume but these were in fact the ones that generated the best leads.

Use GSC and other KW tools as a guide but don't treat their suggestions as absolutes. Your experience and knowledge are a far better source than any automated tool. Even GSC gets it wrong.
