I apologize if this is a basic question -- I'm just a local business trying to stumble through the Google + maze.

I have now two pages -- a personal page:
https://plus.google.com/+MichaelFiskeDC/about?gl=US&hl=en-US

for which I was given a Google + URL by Google:
google.com/+MichaelFiskeDC

...and a business page (at least I think that's what it is -- it might be what you are calling a local page):
https://plus.google.com/u/0/106030321598378282842/about

The only thing I care about is the reviews, which are on the business (local) page. So what's the best course of action here? Merge, delete one page, leave as is, wait for Google to upgrade something?

Should I link from the business (local) page to my website, as detailed here? https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1708844?hl=en

Does it matter that the Google + URL is to the page I don't care about?

Thanks for your great forum on this very complex topic!

Hi Michael and welcome to the forum from a long time sufferer and committed Chiro patient. :)

Yes I know it's very confusing but your situation is simpler than most. Think just some confusion.

You are all set you don't want to delete anything and you can't/would not want to merge the pages you have.

The top is your personal profile. It's just about you the person, not your business. You should keep it but can largely ignore it if you want.

The 2nd is your Place page and a Google+ business page that are already merged into one. So you are all set there.

Yes would be good to follow the instructions and add the 2nd link to your site.

But I'm confused about this Q: "Does it matter that the Google + URL is to the page I don't care about?"

The instructions were for your G+ page. Your G+ page is the one with reviews so that's the one you want and that's the one the instructions are about.

If there is still confusion feel free to ask. Don't try anything unless you are clear because it is all quite complicated and a wrong move can mess you up. We're here if you need us.

Dear Linda,

Thank you so much for the very warm, friendly welcome -- and for the reassuring clarification.

My "confusing" question refers to the shortened URL that Google gave me: google.com/+MichaelFiskeDC
which goes to my personal page -- the page I don't care about, since it has no reviews.

Does Google place any special weight on this URL? This URL is listed on my personal page, which is kinda strange, since it is a link to that page itself.

Also, re my business page -- why are reviews showing on the About tab and not on the Review tab? Is this because they are "old" reviews from the Places page? Is there a way to move them to the Review page?

I will go ahead and link my business page to my website. Thanks for making that very clear.

I do indeed have other questions, and I'll start new threads for those (and very much appreciate the help.)

BTW, I enjoy helping others with what I am good at, just like you do, so I hope you will allow me to go briefly off topic. I practiced traditioonal chiropractic for a while, then became dissatisfied with the results I was getting and started looking for the very best ways I could find to help people. Just as in local SEO, knowledge of the human body is always expanding.

I found a remarkable technique called Advanced Biostructural Correction (ABC). There's a detailed video about ABC on my website, www.whiteoakchiropractic.com (please remove link if against forum rules). ABC will immediately correct posture from the very first adjustment, balancing and aligning the body in a way that traditional chiropractic does not even attempt to do. It often dramatically reduces pain and chronic problems.

I know that we become very attached to our chiropractor, but if you feel that you have plateaued and are not progressing, than you may want to look into ABC. I get results with ABC I never saw before. The ABC patient website is ABCMiracles.com. In SoCal, there's Dr. Todd Simpson in Fullerton, Dr. Allen Bonilla in LA, and Dr. Robert Reynoso in Huntington Beach, and there may be others as well.

All the best to you,
Michael

You should be able to delete that link if you want to inside your G+ profile dashboard.

Reviews are always on the About tab. The review tab is for something different. It's not for reviews pts give you it's for reviews you leave for other businesses. So you can go into setting and tell Google not to show that tab if you don't use it and especially if you think it could confuse pts.

Actually I WAS attached to my Chiro for years but I've progressed from daily chronic pain to extreme pain and am almost crippled up sometimes now. So have been to 5 Chiros and a Pain Management specialist in the last 2 months trying to get answers and 2nd opinions. One Chiro told me my neck is so bad he refused to even adjust it. Says if anyone adjusts a neck like mine I'll likely end up in hospital and could end up paralyzed. (Due to scoliosis with severe bone spurs/fusing/stenosis, etc.) Plus he told me I have a bunch of cervical fractures from being adjusted. But new Xrays from another Chiro AND and MD/radiologist show no fractures. So they don't know why he said that.

I just found a Chiro that specializes in upper cervical and is certified in the Blair technique so am trying that now. But I'm desperate because everyone is telling me I need to quit or seriously cut back on work. Sitting all day at PC is the worst thing for my corkscrew scoliosis and am stage 3 and fusing.

Pain mgmt Dr I saw yesterday told me my neck is so bad I should not let any Chiro touch it no matter how gentle and non-invasive they say their adjustment is. But you know how some MDs are about Chiro. I'm not giving up on it.

I will look for someone who does ABC locally. Thanks so much for the tip!

Watched your video Michael. There is not anyone very convenient to me, but I'm still checking them out. Thanks so much for sharing that info.

Linda, thank you for being so open -- my heart goes out to you.

I didn't want to come on too strong at first, but I will pull out all the stops now and speak openly also.

I constantly look and research to find the most effective treatments out there. I know of no other system of adjusting or bodywork that can come close to ABC. There is a reason why the ABC website is called ABCMiracles.com. I truly see large and small miracles every day. I often have people coming to me who have been to many other chiros and/or MDs and who are desperate, or nearly so. These are people who most other chiros would throw up their hands at, like the chiro you consulted. ABC will help over 95% of these people -- often dramatically.

I routinely treat and help scoliosis patients. The usual response is complete management of symptoms. That is, if they come in regularly (anywhere from 2-3 times a week at first to as little as once a month later), they have no pain. Now, yours is indeed a complex case, with degeneration, fusing, and stenosis, but you should still get significant results.

In my practice I would also recommend my Class IV laser. A Class IV laser powerfully reduces pain and inflammation and speeds healing at the level of the cells. A usual response is about a 50% reduction in pain with the first treatment, and then treatments need to be repeated at least twice a week, probably for about ten treatments for a chronic condition. There are videos on my website for my laser, but there are other Class IV lasers that are good also, and they should be pretty common in SoCal.

Another treatment you should look into is high-powered Pulsed ElectroMagnetic Frequency, or PEMF. I don't have this but I've been looking into it heavily. A good site to start with is drpawluk.com -- an MD who has researched PEMF thoroughly.

I took classes in Blair upper cervical and went through a course of treatments to see what it did to my body. The answer: not too much. For someone like you, with severe conditions, this is a dead end, IMHO. ABC, on the other hand, should be a door opening -- with profound results you have never experienced before. It's worth a drive. Call the nearest ABC doctor and ask him if there is anyone nearer.

Re sitting at a PC all day: this is difficult for anyone, let alone someone with structural issues. I recommend two things -- and they should make a pretty big difference to you. First, Google: sit/stand desks. These are desks in which all the surfaces are fully adjustable and float up and down, so you can adjust them to the optimal sitting or standing position. Then you simply stand for some of the time as a break. Also, try using Dragon Speaking or a similar program if you are not already. You should also take breaks every hour or so and stretch and walk around. Second, get this chair: office chairs for bad backs, ergonomic stools | EZ Posture Products It looks odd but it is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on, and is designed by an ABC doctor. Use my last name (FISKE) as a coupon code and you get a 5% discount.

Any questions, feel free to ask -- or call me at my office number. This rings through to my cell on the weekend.

All the very best to you!
Michael
