Curious if anyone has been in a situation where a client allows another marketing company to manage their GBP listing. It doesn't happen often but when it does it makes me uncomfortable with fears of them doing something to get the listing suspended.

Am I being overly protective or does anyone move these listings out of their main dashboard in these situations?

On the other hand, the client can employ whoever the want to do what ever they want. Unless you have some exclusivity contract. If the other marketing company mess things up it's not your problem. Just means the client has to pay you mega bucks to fix things.

I had a client who got a cheap developer to make some changes to their site. This dev made a real hash of things (doing live edits) and broke the site to badly the database needed editing . Cost the client a considerable amount for me to fix everything. Clients do what clients do - invariably the wrong thing.

I totally agree! Almost always left to fix things. My concern is in these days of Google suspensions. They freak me out. While, of course I can be the one to work on getting it unsuspended, I don’t like the idea of the Google black mark connected to my name.

If it’s in my GBP dashboard…

Maybe I’m wrong? But you can’t remove yourself from a suspended profile so it seems like a black mark.

I guess I amend my words. It seems to me that Google will keep track of this and while not necessarily a black mark, its noted. I would assume the suspension would also be noted under the user that caused the suspension. So my concern is more about having a suspended listing in my dashboard. I trust myself, but not the other marketing company.
