One other benefit is that you won't have to ask customers who are iOS users to download the Google+ Local app just to write a review for you. Everyone has the Maps app anyway. So that's one fewer obstacle between business owners and reviews.

The other advantage of the app is that reviews tend to stick versus those posted via the web so it helps ramp up the reputation as an added perk.
