I have a client who’s been stuck at 99 reviews. She got a new review today and was able to respond to it, but her total number of reviews has not updated. She may well have more than 100 at this point. Has anyone seen this behavior in GBP? Is there anything that can be done? TIA!

Google has a filter that automatically checks reviews and automatically removes ones that it thinks violate guidelines for Prohibited and Restricted Content. The system isn't 100% perfect so sometimes legit reviews are also caught by this filter. Google has put out content to help merchants understand missing & delayed reviews.

The best way to get these restored is to contact support here, type reviews and follow these prompts

type reviews > select missing reviews > next steps > bypass resources > next steps > email

If you have screenshots or usernames of the missing reviews, that would help support find and restore them. Even if you don't have that, tell them approximately how many reviews are missing and they should be able to restore them.

Yes, I recently worked through an issue with a GBP stuck at a certain number of reviews, even though new reviews were coming in. What was even more strange is that 10 or more old reviews were surfacing as new. A few *were* updated with current details, but most seemed to be unchanged. We could tell they were older because of the listing owner replies were from 5+ years ago. HOWEVER, I think this was a glitch, because now the new reviews are showing along with the total review count going up.
