Rise in reverifications via API updates?

I know Krystal Taing had posted recently that she had been seeing an uptick in reverification triggers from minor GBP updates.

Is there any evidence of Google pushing for reverification when making updates via API through platforms like Yext / Uberall / etc vs through the Google Agency dashboard?

We had a verification go through in September and now it’s asking to be reverified after no direct updates to the profile.

We're having this same issue. It seems to be getting better, but it was really bad for the last couple of weeks.
