Should the "Date" stay in a Blog URL?

Seems wordpress is adding the date ion the URL of a blog post so it is showing like

site.com/2021/12/20/website-maintenance

Should that URL be left alone or would it be best to remove the date for any reason please?

@mikepcservice, that's a pretty standard URL slug. I'd probably leave it as-is. There's nothing to be gained by removing it, especially if you also do it post facto on other blog posts and need to create a bunch of redirects.
