Verify by uploading Government ID...?

[Digital Jedi]

Has anyone else seen this?

I came across it 2 weeks ago. While I've seen some rando verification options, this was a first...

How does Google know the Government ID is associated with the business?

Talk amongst yourselves....

New to me! Did you try that option? What documents did it ask for?

Curious to know if this worked, or if Google required another verification method even after the documents were submitted, which I find happens with phone or email verification.

There was another thread about verification using a photo. I suspect Google is trying different methods of verification to fix the dreadful mess they have got themselves into.

There was an instance where a company profile could only be verified via documents—specifically, a passport. The system offered no other methods whatsoever—such as recording a video or providing other types of information—whereas here, you have several options to choose from.
