What is better for local SEO, direct link or guest post?

We`re partnering with other home service businesses in the area, and the question that I have is what is better - to make a direct link to each other's websites under the "our partners" tab or to create guest posts in the blog section?

None of the above.

Linking to each other for SEO is pointless. Google has said so many times. If however there is a reason to refer to another business then the link can have value. For example if you knit socks a link to a shop where you can buy the socks would have value.

Don't bother with guest posts.

Local SEO doesn't need link building. What you need are referrals, citations and reviews.
