Every 6-12 months, I like to review the tools I use and do some research to see if I'm missing something important or can do more for me.

What's currently on your tool belt? Rankings, local tools, citation building tools/aides, analytics tools, etc.
In no order of importance:
  • Ahrefs
  • BrightLocal
  • Get Five Stars
  • Crazy Egg
  • Google Analytics
  • Buzzstream
  • Buzzsumo
  • Screming Frog
Thanks for starting Luke, and for sharing Blake.

Off to Tweet this to try and get some more pros to weigh in.
I have a few more to add, on top of the ones Blake mentioned...

Moz Local
Whitespark - Reputation Builder
Whitespark - Citation Finder
Whitespark - Submission Service
Screaming Frog - always and forever
Analytics - always and forever
Majestic - for links
SEMrush - for keyword research/broad understanding of their search performance
Advice Local (Formerly Local Site Submit) - for local citations, Google My Business, and local reporting
Agency Analytics (Formerly My SEO Tools) - for client reporting on rankings, GA, and Site Audit
MegaIndex Backlinks
MegaIndex Donors Benchmark
MegaIndex Outlinks
Crazy Egg
and self-build analytics system I prefer not to reveal yet :)
Rank Tracker (Link Assistant)
Web Auditor (Link Assistant)
Screaming Frog
I use a variety of tools:
- Moz for general tracking
- Clicky for Analytics
- Screaming Frog for on-page issues
- Long Tail Pro for Keyword research
- Buffer for social media
- Process Street productivity program to keep the team on track
- Spotify to keep me sane
- Coffee to keep me awake
A lot of the tools mentioned are great! In addition to Screaming Frog for on-page issues I also you Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager from Microsoft. IIS lets you perform site analysis' and find some issues that Screaming Frog may miss. When performing analysis' on sites I always will run them in both Screaming Frog and IIS.
