Will creating non localised blog posts harm local search rankings?

Hi there if I create blog posts around general topics related to the industry that are focused on global or non localised keywords will it negatively impact local seo?

Generally speaking, no it wouldn't. In fact, you can leverage non-localized blog posts to support locally optimized pages.

Thank you- that's great to hear.
I've had a blog post that's doing really well at the same time local rankings are dropping. So thought I'd rule this out as an issue.

It's getting quite a few spammy links so will use the disavow tool to make sure it's not the links causing issues.

To me it looks like rankings are not doing as well due to competitor activity - getting recent reviews and more backlinks.
