Yelp merging two listings with the same name

A client of mine had their two separate locations (in the same city with the same business name) merged and it caused a lot of problems. Has anyone else experienced Yelp listings being merged and is there a way to keep them from being merged even though they are both verified at a different address?

I have never experienced this issue before. I had a few of the franchises using phone trees too. Personally, I recommend getting separated telephone numbers for both locations and set up call tracking numbers.
