Hi Jeff - Thanks for the reply! I've been using The Wayback Machine for many years and its a great little tool. I specifically use it in the case of redesigns, where we might not have had the whole sitemap or were missing important pages that were nested in the main menu, etc. etc.
It doesn't...
I've had this hunch for quite some time. We've been using a free tool from Writer.com for AI detection. If it doesn't show as at least 96% or above human written, that page generally ranks at least 4-5 spots lower than the competitors. More recently we starting using AI as a writing assistant...
So yes, some clients lost ranks to thin and fluffy websites. Other clients (from the best we can decipher so far) lost rank due to their own "fluffy" content, but not really 'thin' content IMO. As I mentioned, we've adjusted some content to be very human-centric.
I agree on Google search...
As a business and agency owner who's very hands on in the SEO side of our efforts, I used the cache:https://mysite.com feature in chrome daily. Now that it's finally sunset, I'm lost.
I know that Search Console gives you some features, test live URL, etc. but it doesn't really tell the whole...
Very interesting and this kind of relates to some updates on our end. We rode it out with all clients who weren't breathing down our necks. Many of our clients saw no significant change. The ones that dipped, rebounded slightly, but haven't retaken the #1 spots. Most went from top 3 to dropping...
I've noticed some clients that weren't actively pursuing reviews and had a low quantity of them (nothing fresh) also saw some significant drops in local rankings.
Are you thinking that the Core update significantly impacted Maps in any way?
Not really. They've all been hosted on the same fast hosting platform, always Wordpress, never really needed a CDN. There are different levels of caching going on to speed up Wordpress, but Google's page cache has always looked good.
For our clients, I'm talking about single office, one owner businesses (dental offices). The only equivalent of anything related in the dental industry of a "big brand" would be like an Aspen Dental, Clear Choice or possibly a "Comfort Dental." Some form of a large DSO (private equity group)...
Hi Jeff,
I would definitely be curious of your findings. What I'm seeing on a lot of service based (interior) pages of the websites, is that they're outranked by thin content with no real quality or substance. They also aren't using a Geo with their KW's within on-page optimizations quite...
And strictly talking local businesses (in dentistry). There were no crazy fluctuations in March, but this last one oddly knocked most of our clients out of the top 3 results organically.
Preface: I own an agency that focuses only on dental clients
Curious if anyone else is scratching their heads after this new update? We spent the last 6 months reinventing how we created localized content for clients, pushing for quality photography/imagery, uniquely written longer form...
Super frustrating...
Out of curiosity have you been running many Smart Bidding campaigns? If so, how have they performed? Or were you noticing this more for Manual?
I always thought Google Ads fundamentals were based on competition and in being competitive with your own campaign efforts...
I started to write a response here that I was shocked that Freshly Clean's website survived the latest Google ranking update. Considering the main focus was "Write content for people, not search engines." But after I looked at the competition, it appears to do a much better job of satisfying...
I'm wondering if this has already been talked about extensively, and if it has, please feel free to direct me to the appropriate places for discussion.
We have noticed a drastic drop in performance across all of our Google Ads accounts for local businesses that started in August and especially...
