2 GBPs - Same location, related category

Hello,
It has always been my understanding that multiple GBPs at the same location is fine as long as its different categories. But what about similar categories for example Dumpster Rental and Waste Management Service? Would that still be okay and be able to rank independently?

If both businesses are legally distinct and have staff working face-to-face with customers during stated business hours, they may be eligible for separate listings.

They should also have separate names, unique phone numbers, and categories, or else you might run into issues with "duplicate" listings. If you have unique websites, even better.

If they rank independently depends on the searches you want them to rank for. Dumpster rental and Waste Management Service seem different enough that I don't think they would have many issues with ranking overlap for those keywords specifically. Linking to unique websites or web pages that target their specific niches will help. Also don't add "dumpster rental" as a secondary category to your Waste Management listing and vice versa.
