Title: Accidentally deleted my ORIGINAL verified Business Profile (40 reviews) - support case closed without resolution

Hi everyone,

I own a construction company in Los Angeles. On 10/26/2026 I accidentally deleted my original, verified Google Business Profile (40 reviews). I meant to delete a duplicate listing and removed the original instead.

What I have done so far:
- Submitted a request through the Business Profile help form (case [1-3990000041666]) and emailed support with the Reference ID and FID of the deleted profile.
- Two days later I received an automated satisfaction survey, meaning the case was marked closed, but no human replied and the profile was not restored.
- I answered the survey as not resolved, submitted a new help form referencing the closed case, and posted an update in the Google Business Profile community thread.
- I have NOT verified the new duplicate listing, because I want the original back.

Questions:
1. Has anyone gotten a profile restored after deleting it by mistake? How long did it take?
2. What wording or evidence worked best in the request (restore / undelete)?
3. If Google refuses to restore it, is verifying the new profile the best way to get the 40 reviews moved over, and has that worked for anyone?
4. Is there a way to escalate a closed case?

I still have the Business Profile Reference ID, FID, and review notification emails. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

Sorry, that's a painful one. A few practical things while you wait:
1. Hold off on verifying the duplicate. You're right not to. Once a new profile is verified at the same address, support tends to treat the case as "solved" and the old one becomes much harder to bring back.
2. Escalate through the community thread, not the form. On the Google Business Profile Community, Product Experts (the ones with the badge, and especially Gold/Platinum) can escalate a thread directly to the support team. Make your post short and factual: date of deletion, that it was the verified original, Reference ID / FID, the closed case number, and one line: "Requesting restoration of the deleted profile, not reinstatement of a suspended one." Mixing those two up is a common reason cases get closed by the wrong team.
3. Reply on the original support email chain. Even if the case was auto-closed, replying to the same email with the case number sometimes reopens it with a human. Keep a screenshot of the old profile (from a review notification email, Wayback Machine or a cached directory listing) and attach it.
4. Protect the business in the meantime. The reviews matter, but calls matter more right now. Make sure your website, Yelp/Houzz/BBB listings and any ads point people to the right phone number, and ask a few recent happy clients for reviews you can later collect on whichever profile survives.
On the reviews moving over: in the cases we've seen it depends on whether Google treats it as a restore or as a merge, and nobody outside Google can promise that, so I'd push for the restore first and only verify the new listing if they confirm in writing it can't be done.
Please post back how it goes, it'll help the next person.
