Would it be advisable to include a link to driving directions for a business on the footer of the website?

Adding driving directions to the footer of your website can be a helpful feature, especially if your website is for a physical location like a store, office, or venue. It can make it easier for visitors to find your location and navigate there, which could potentially increase foot traffic or attendance at events.

However, consider the following factors before adding driving directions to the footer:
  1. Relevance: Are driving directions necessary for your website visitors? It might not be necessary if your business operates online or doesn't rely heavily on physical visits.
  2. User Experience: Will adding driving directions clutter your footer or make it harder for users to find other important information? Make sure the directions are presented clearly and concisely.
  3. Mobile Responsiveness: Ensure the driving directions are mobile-friendly since many users will access your website from their smartphones.
  4. Accuracy: Make sure the driving directions provided are accurate and up-to-date. You don't want to lead visitors astray with incorrect information.
  5. Alternatives: Consider if there are alternative methods for providing directions, such as embedding a map or linking to a directions service like Google Maps.
Ultimately, if adding driving directions aligns with your website's goals and enhances the user experience, it can be valuable to your footer. Just be sure to implement it thoughtfully and considerately.

From CTR standpoint I heard on a podcast this week (so might be bunk) that it doesn't matter about driving directions to the location, so much as from the location, that moves the needle currently. YMMV.
