Anyone using Google News?

I am being told in order to help ranking one would need to post daily, is this correct please and also what's the least amount of words required per post?

My Research shows that Daily "posts" need to be made in order for Google news to work for you in helping with rankings. So I am wondering what the least amount of words is which will work for the daily posts and also if the daily postings will be worth it?
