There is a current bug that I have run into several times in the last couple days so it seems semi-widespread and I wanted to post an update about it. A colleague of mine sent me a call-in from Google where they told her a page that looked completely unverified and not connected to Maps was actually connected.

I've now run across tons of pages like this.

Here is an example: https://plus.google.com/103047665542672973047/about

This is the maps record
https://www.google.com/maps/place/S...63,15z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x6bd5df3af61bb5aa

I can't find the MapMaker record at the moment which I'm guessing is related to the bug.

The page looks like an unverified G+ page but it's not.

Google is aware and hopefully will fix it soon. I haven't looked yet to see if it's impacting ranking in any way. Will post back with more details.

Update: His CID # was still in his Page Source so I found the MM record: http://www.google.com/mapmaker?gw=90&cid=7770362176427767210

However you don't get it at all by searching his business name in MapMaker. Phone # search is also broken at the moment.

Kill me now.

I noticed this last week as well Joy. I contacted Google earlier this week and the rep (US call center) said she had never seen this before, she would escalate it to the engineers and get back with me. Havent heard anything yet.

Always nice when the G reps say they havent noticed a problem I (we) are seeing. Good times.

Just got off the phone with a Google Rep (same one I was in contact with earlier in the week) and she said she wasn't sure what the issue was but it was a Google error. It appeared to her that there was a bug in processing the Verified/Un-verified listing correctly. G will correct the issue if you bring it to their attention and to allow 24-48 hours to correct itself once G is aware of the problem.

Thanks Brian!

Mike just posted more, at least sounds related to this one.

Then there is the other weird bug Colan posted about here today.

With all these sudden bugs, my spidey senses are saying back end update of some kind.
