I have a hotel casino client and they have the option to add an update. Every time I attempt to add a post it never uploads. Is this a Google profile error or am I seeing this issue because its prohibited content?
Why give the option to add an update?

Prohibited content
We do not allow content related to regulated products and services, which include alcohol, tobacco products, gambling, financial services, pharmaceuticals and unapproved supplements, or health or medical devices.

Solution
Casinos should be all set to do Google Posts, just guidelines around the content of the post (stricter).

So I would say the issue is the actual content of the post or there might be some other bug happening in which case you would need to contact support.

Hey Claudia, just curious if the image being used had any type of text overlay or an image that included wording in the background like signage?

It was a NYE post! do you think this is my issue?

It definitely could be. Over the past year Google has been very selective about the image being used and if it contains text. This didn't just affect posts, but also product images. I'd suggest trying the post w/o any image/photo and see if it is accepted.

actually we did do a post with no image. Same error every time. We did no CTA and very little text.

Well shoot!

So, there is another thread that may seem totally unrelated to your issue but please take a look at my reply (towards the bottom) where I mentioned a way to manage your GBP using the Google Maps app: GBP Not Allowing Me To Upload Photos

It would be interesting if you have the same issue, or if it is accepted using the Google Maps app instead.

Well that was a project! The problem I have is my agency account has several hundred Google profiles. I connect to Google maps from my phone but by the time I was able to view the location I noticed that there was not option to add a post. When I did find a update option it posted it as if I were a customer post and not a business post. It did go live and there are two other customer posts but not the way I want to manage this for my clients. The post was from our agency name and not the casino.

I'll give it a try on one of our GBPs that we manage and see how it gets posted. FWIW, we don't use an agency account, we setup a unique group address on our domain for each of our clients, e.g. seo.clientname@ourdomain.com, and then configure it as a google account. We've just found this way to be more flexible to manage, it works for us. Anyways, it may be this weekend before I can try it out but I'll let you know how it posts for me but I expect it will post as the business name. Have a good one!

As you mentioned, Google has policies in place around certain types of regulated products and services, including gambling.
