Deleting Photos from Profile?

Do you ever go through a client's profile and delete photos? The only time I have done this is if it's a rebrand and the profile has the old business pics. But I have a client who's profile has tons of pictures that are just irrelevant to their business — like the owner on vacation, random pictures, etc...is there any value in deleting these old pics (some are more than 5 years old)? Additionally, the primary photo that comes up on his profile is one of the vacation pics.

For the reason you pointed out (wrong image as main) alone those should be deleted. Other reasons I've deleted images include: former office locations, and rejected images (yes I like to state the obvious lol).

Generally, images like what you're talking about are just unprofessional. I've seen people use a facebook page for both personal and professional purposes, but a GBP is absolutely not appropriate for that.

Maybe check in quick with the client whether the images need to be saved separately just in case? You wouldn't want to cause irrecoverable loss of personal souvenir photos...

So the follow up though: do you think deleting the personal photos would have any positive or negative affect on the profile? Would/does leaving them up have a negative affect?

I guess part of what I'm trying to figure out is — is the time spent deleting the photos potentially going to have a beneficial impact on the profile? Would it potentially increase conversions, or credibility, etc...? Client is OK with removing them and is working on getting us more professional photos. If it matters: this is a lawyer.

I never remove photos. If you can get a photo showing staff outside the business, Google tends to use that as the default photo.
