Does Pausing LSA accounts affect ad rank/performance?

As per above. I manage multiple accounts for a client. The accounts are divided into geographical areas. When my client is very busy they want to pause specific accounts depending on their work load and switch them back on again when needed. In practice this could mean switching accounts from paused to run on a daily basis.

Would doing this affect the accounts overall ad rank?

I obviously can't guarantee this will be the same case for your client's individual account/market but I've paused/unpaused a few of our client's accounts and rankings were back to where they were previously in a few hours.
