Entire state in service area

I have a new client, a concrete construction contractor based in Houston. I'm not sure how long ago their GBP was verified, but "Texas" is listed as a service area.
My question is, should I remove Texas to stay within guidelines, or leave it alone so as not to trigger further review and possible reverification?

Leave it alone. It doesn’t impact rankings. If they get suspended, then you will need to remove it.
