GBP categories not coming in

HI everyone. I have been experiencing a weird issue in the past couple of months. I have a couple of client that provide plumbing services besides their HVAC, which for both of them is the main vertical of service for the company. Now, every time I try to add "plumber" as secondary category, the edit keeps getting rejected by Google over and over again. I have tried pretty much everytime in terms of using local VPNs to change my IP, make sure the edits look like if they being made locally, we even have asked the business owners to do the edit themselves, from the same account that created the GBPs in the first place, and even that was not succesful. Posted in google community forum but no answer and obviosly, Google support is a joke and they simlply wont replay, in fact, they just send me an automated email saying that they could not understand my requirement along with a bunch of links ??
Any idea on how to deal with this??

Are you getting an actual "edit was rejected" message? If there is no such message, then Google is not doing anything.

If message -> google support
if no message, the more likely cause is that you or your client has some external API connected to the GBP and set to automatically revert any changes from the original settings
