For the last few months, there have been lots of posts in the Google Business Profile community forum about GBP verification taking a long time. Some users mention wait times of weeks or even months, which is a whole lot longer than the five days suggested by Google!

There are lots of backlogs with GBP support at the moment but in many cases, this verification problem is a glitch, not a delay. Here's how you can tell: if your Business Profile tells you that Google is processing your verification, but the verification tool reports that the verification is complete, then there's a problem
So, the first step is to check the verification tool. If the tool says that the verification is still processing—so the tool and your profile are reporting the same status—then it's just a delay. You'll have to wait a bit longer.
But if the tool gives you a different status than the NMX and says the profile is verified while NMX tells you it is not, then there's a glitch.
You'll have to contact support to fix this verification issue.
