Google forums moving to new platform - save your old content

I'm in the process of exporting all my old posts from the Google forum that ran on the "lithium" platform, so that I may import it into their new system.

Shouldn't this happen automatically?

Has anyone else done this and do your old threads really get fully and properly migrated to their new forum system?

Google changes forum software every few years and they never keep the old posts. It's kind of crazy given the information that's lost. I haven't bothered to download my stuff because I have way too much and you can't move it to the new platform, it just allows you to have all the data locally on your computer.

The new forum platform is 100x better than the old one.

No, I don't believe there is a way to do that.
