Hi,
a client is asking whether he can create and verify a Google listing for a new housing development he is building. His competition uses verified GMB listing to promote new investments in the city. There is a "housing complex" category in the GMB dashboard.

However, in the guidelines Google says:
"The following businesses are not eligible for a Business Profile:
  • Rental or for-sale properties, such as holiday homes, show homes or vacant apartments. Sales or leasing offices, however, are eligible for verification."

Can a Google listing be created and verified in this case?

@intlocal, if it's more like an apartment complex (i.e. one street address), rather than a series of single-family spec homes, then I'd say yes. The GMB page still may fall into a gray area, but Google is unlikely to remove it if your client is able to owner-verify it.
