Was hearing from another SEO that linking back to Maps URL/CID with keyword anchor text was effective.

Anyone test this and have any feedback?

Yes and no. It does work but doesn't have the staying power. You will get a quick boost and then lose that boost.

So we haven't tested it. But we are starting to do this. We think it would work for the brand name of the company in the anchor text, and also for whatever the service is the company offers. The reasoning is you are trying to boost the signals to the listing and this would/should be one of those signals that could work.
