Hi Everyone -

I am curious if anyone has tried advertising service combined with product in the Google Product ads. For example, when a user searches for 'Barn Door', there are ads for the door, and the hardware, and that's it. What my proposal is to advertise the door, hardware, and installation in the product ad. Also, just for clarification, I am using barn door as an example. The vertical I am in does not meet Google's criteria for Local Service Ads.

I have jotted down some pros and cons:

Pros:
  • Advertise a service provider in prominent real estate on the SERP
  • Low competition from other service providers
Cons:
  • High risk that Google cracks down, and limits the ability in the future
  • Pricing - If a product & service is advertised against only product, the price in most cases will likely be double the price in other ads.
Thanks in advance for your answers.

You could always try it and see if your ads get approved with the new angle you're thinking. If not, there's your answer.
