Google plus local - added keyword, but now does NAP hurt me?

Results from two tests:
1.
Original Name was "Company"
New name was "Company + Niche"
Result: Jumped from not in 7-pack to the the 7-pack when searching "Niche + Location"
2.
Original Name was "Company Keyword"
New Name was "Company Keyword + Location"
Result: Dropped in both organic and out of the 7pack when searching "Keyword" in Location
3.
Original Name was "Company"
New Name was "Company Niche"
Result: No effect
