I remember a quite while back Google reviews were aggregated from review sources other than their own. I'm curious when they stopped aggregating from other sources.

That was back in the summer of 2011. Quite awhile ago

And up until last year you could still find reviews from 3rd party sites inside the Reviews section of the GMB.

They stopped doing that in 2011. Rumor said it happened because of Yelp's complaint.
