@Caro, few people are as up-to-date on Google's updates as Barry is, so the chances are good it's exactly as he said. But there are many things that can tank rankings. So if your rankings didn't just pop back up, anyone who helps you troubleshoot would need to know things like (1) are we talking about your organic rankings or 3-pack / Maps rankings, (2) which search terms dropped, (3) what do you see in the "Performance" area of search console, (4) what changes (if any) were made on the site and when, and so on.
Nothing in Google yesterday but I did note that our visbility within Bing across our keywords fell off a cliff (almost halved) Not of any great concern as Bing has very small market share in Australia , but was noteworthy.
