Hey, a client sent is a screenshot of what they would like their GBPs to show up as. I'm trying to replicate the view and am not getting the same search results. They're in MN.
Can someone please explain what type of search would show this? I tried geo locating and a variety of search terms. Also, what would the requirements be for a business to populate like this?
Thank you!

@luischavez0104 - There are a lot of factors that change the search results: time of day, device, browser, location, search history, etc. So, recreating someone else's search results exactly is unlikely.

That screenshot is the result of a brand search.

Spoof your location to Bloomington or Elk River or some other city shown in that screenshot, search for "SafeBasements" and you'll get a very similar (although probably not identical) view.

Thank you! Do you happen to know what causes that type of query? Do you have to have multiple GBPs in close proximity with all of their addresses showing?

People will search for your brand if they are familiar with it and they want to get in touch with you. E.g. People might search for a nearby 'Starbucks' instead of 'coffee shop', or 'Home Depot' instead of 'hardware store'. Branding is important!

Obviously, based on the example you posted in your first message, we know that multiple listings in close proximity work. (You could probably run more experiments with high-density brands like Starbucks or Dunkin. Tim Hortons in Canada.)

What if a brand had three locations: NY, LA and one in the centre of the US in Kansas. If you search for the brand, would Google present a Map zoomed out to show the entire country and those three locations?

YES!

I know a law firm with about 5 or 6 locations spread across the US. They're in Florida, Texas, Washington, California, etc. Coast to coast! I was able to produce a map for them that was zoomed out to show the whole country and several of their locations. So 'close proximity' doesn't matter.
