Not seeing the "Chat" Button on mobile for ANY business

I must be missing something but why is it I would not see the "Chat" Button on mobile for ANY businesses? I have checked all the boxes that seem to enable this but with no luck:
1) On mobile
2) Chrome
3) logged into a google account

Cannot see it either on anyone's GBP listing or when I click on the address and land on the listing within GMaps....

What category are you looking in? This button is category dependent so perhaps your category just doesn't have it.

"category dependent"? What? I have merely "enabled" chat on my GMB and cannot see that "chat" button when accessing one of my GMB listings. What does the category have to do with it?
