Hello!
I have a location page for a local business that has ranked in the top 3 spots on the first page of SERPs for some months now. We're looking to expand operations on this location so we decided to build a new website focused on this location and the surrounding cities. Our old location page is still ranking well but we want to focus on building up the new website and having that stand on its own.
The idea is to redirect the old location page to point to the new website homepage. Once the redirect is in place, I'm considering requesting the location page URL be removed from the Google index. Would this be a good course to follow? Have you all done a similar thing in the past and can you share your experiences or thoughts on the matter?
Thanks in advance!
