Does a response (i.e. Thank You) to someone taking the time provide your business with a positive review on Google have any effect at all in the larger SEO scheme of things? Aside from plain old courtesy that is. I encourage those of my accounts that get positive reviews - and negative ones - to respond in kind. Some do, some don't. Just curious about other forum members' experience.

I think the biggest benefit is conversions. Other potential customers that read the reviews can see that your clients are open, appreciative and responsive.

Next time a client tells me they're too busy to respond, I'm going to send them your response :)
 
You can add... the responses you make could drive future sales PLUS increase loyalty with existing customers.
