Reporting spam

I have found a few spammy GMB listings in my local searches. One competitor has a few listings, but only one verified (all above me on the search results). Ive never reported spam, or requested an edit....simply because Im worried it will come back to me.

So this thread is a basic question. If I report on GBM - either as spam or as suggesting an edit, will the competitor know it is me?

Hi @Belfastlad the edits are private so there is no way for anyone to know who submitted the edit. The exception I have heard about is if Google gets subpoenaed.

If those listings are not legitimate and they are taking business away from you, you should try to get them removed. Also, if the other listings are not verified, it's possible that they were not even created by the business owner.
