Show Business Address

We have a client who is a plumber and doesn't seem to get the traffic. Is this because he is a service area business and doesn't show his address? Can he toggle on "show business address to customers" What are the ramifications of doing this. Why are so many plumbers showing "direction" I presume they are not sole proprietors? Would it be advisable to suggest he get a little office space somewhere.

There can be several reasons they are not ranking. They may not have set up core citations, Apple Maps, Yahoo, Bing, and Yelp. They might not have properly optimized the website. They would still rank at that address if they moved from where they originally got verified.

There is a possibility Google will make them reverify the GBP when you show the address. Google could suspend the GBP when you make the change.
