Sitemap.xml vs Sitemap.aspx

I've been doing a little research trying to find if using sitemap.aspx hurts SEO. So far I have not found anything pointing to the negative. Google and sitemap.org mention xml (which we always use) Anyone have any words of wisdom on this?

Aspx pages are fine if the sitemap data is rendered as XML. It really doesn't matter what the file extension is if rendered properly.
