The 5-day review bug is back

I am seeing that Google is removing reviews posted within the past 5 days from the review count. This business should show three reviews, but Google is only counting one.

I have been seeing a TON of reviews being removed for businesses lately that follow this pattern. Did this business end up getting the reviews posted again? Do they just have to wait, or did they contact support and get this fixed? I have a 50/50 success rate with Google support on these types of review removals where the review goes live and then gets removed.

I have also seen it is impactful to ask a client to edit the review slightly, and then it shows back up.

I know that editing the original review works, and the review shows it's a PITA for every business to have to do this.

Such a pain!!! But if it works, it works, and it might be worth all the extra hassle if the reviews stick after.

But how many businesses know this or want to invest this amount of time and energy into this? I get what Google is trying to do, but they make things worse for those playing by the rules while those at abuse the system get away with it.
