Too many reviews in a short period of time

I know that getting "too many" reviews within a short period of time can be flagged Google as spammy activity, resulting in those reviews being removed.

Is there any sort of benchmark for how many constitutes too many?

I don't think I've ever seen Google remove reviews based on the frequency they get in a short period of time.

We've had some disappear recently and were wondering if it was due to our third party review generation efforts producing too many at one time.
