Hi All,
SEO SOS!
I'm being bombarded with Toxic Links of late. For instance, I just got a backlink from Joe's Plumbing & Heating Reviews, Complaints, Customer Service on the Revdex dot (not so) calm directory, and some directory named imhvac marketing website. Now, I'm all in for the trades, but this is like Ridonculous! Anyhoo, I'm curious if a big disavow enema's in order for these and other wonky backlinks finding their way to my site, or, is it still even worth it in 2025 to invoke the disavow tool? Lots of conflicting information out there.
Thanks in advance to those that weigh in.

Google knows about toxic links and tends to ignore them. I had a whole bunch of links pointing to a plugin support site from a malware site in Indonesia. Made zero difference to my ranking.

For most sites (with a few exceptions) inbound links have very little impact on ranking. If you have a high competition business with big marketing budgets then links can be important but most sites are local or niche and don't need backlinks to rank.

I'd just laugh at the crude attempt to sully your name and move on to more enjoyable activities.
