About primary categories triggering "restricted GMB posting"

Its for sure known that few GMB categories are responsible to lose the entire posting feature for the GMB listing ( examples: accommodation businesses, vapor, liquor & gun shops shops)

Less known might be the fact that for some business categories the posting feature will restricted only on "news" & "event" (not providing the option for "offers" & "product")

I dealt with users of two business categories affected by this restricted GMB posting

One such category is "pharmacy" (German "Apotheke")

An other one is "skin care clinic"

( FYI here the GMB thread about "skin care clinic")

While it is little bit reasonable that pharmacies are restricted I can't consider it reasonable for any "skin care clinic" to post just "news" & "events" (not getting the option for "offers" & "product" at all if the category was specified as primary category)

My goal posting here is to gather other GMB categories also affected by the above explained "restricted GMB posting" like "pharmacy" and/or "skin care clinic"

Feel free to list such categories and affected listing here please.

Anything in the accommodation space doesn't have access to posts (hotels, B&Bs etc).

2. Pharmacy - limited to update or event
   • healthcare and provider related categories have full post capabilities
3. Casino - no posts feature
4. Adult entertainment store - no posts feature

Earlier today I set up a post (event) for a dermatologist (also uses medical spa and skin care clinic GMB categories) and one for an esthetician whose GMB categories are facial spa and skin care clinic. Both posts are about getting facials this month and neither post is "live" yet. Could these categories, or some of them, have lost the ability to post?

If you have the option to create a post within the GMB UI (with a Posts tab) then your primary category qualifies. I am noticing a delay in posts publishing for categories and listings that have done posts in the past so this may be an unrelated issue.

Hello all. Reviving this post to see if anyone has a single location outlining primary GMB categories that are not permitted use of GMB posts. I've seen reference to businesses with primaries dealing with nicotine, alcohol, etc., but is there a single post or page where this is laid out? Tia.
