Claiming Public Spaces & Places

Hi guys,

A town hall has asked me to investigate claiming local spaces which they manage, such as parks, sports centres, churches, etc.

Having spoken to GMB support they tell me it's not possible to claim parks, as there's nowhere to receive the verification mail.

I just wanted to cross check that here too, as it seems a real shame that such valuable public information can't be accessed and managed by the appropriate local institution!

Is this really the case? Is there some way around this? Does anybody have experience with local government who I could talk to?

Hey Jack,

That's correct. Most of these public places don't have phone numbers either so they don't fit the Google My Business model.
